"Brenizer Method Panorama"
During work this past Friday a co-worker, Chris, brought up the “Brenizer Method Panorama” and we decided to give it a try. So I grabbed my camera and we headed outside to see what we could do. The “Brenizer Method Panorama” is a name the internet gave to the idea of taking panorama portraits. So, I’m just with that name for now. The method puts an emphasis on the...

South Adventures
Took a rather impromptu drive along highway 82 in South Louisiana this past weekend. The road travels along the ocean and at some points touching it. Just captured a few shots along the way. Never been that far south, so I took the opportunity to see what it’s all about. I know where to head to now for some awesome photos, when the weather works out for me.

Maxwell Wedding
Weddings are something I don’t often do, but I always have a lot of fun when I get the chance. Had the opportunity to capture one of my great friend’s wedding a couple weeks ago and got some great shots from it. Enjoy!

Starry Night
Looked out my window to a clear sky and no moon in sight. Decided it was an opportunity to get some night shots. Something I only done once before and that did not turn out well. I like how these turned out and I believe that light source in the above photo is Lake Charles, LA.   I did learn a lot on this mini adventure and do have a better understanding of night photography now. I am excited to...

Toledo Bend
Was a simple Sunday afternoon and instead of burning my eyes watching TV, I decided it would be better to burn my eyes staring at the beautiful sunset. Well worth it.

Leesville Gallery Show
Once a month Gallery One Ellleven (yes, with three l’s) has an opening reception for the new art showing that month and I try my best to attend each one. Usually I don’t have my camera with me, but this time I decided bring it along since I had a 17mm with me. Wanted to test the lens out indoors before having to return it. Here are a few shots from the show to get an idea how the art...

171 Speedway Race
Had the chance to attend the first race of the season at Leesville 171 Speedway. Actually, my first race of this kind. Still not even sure what to call it. The atmosphere was something to behold with the community involvement, rev of the engines speeding down the track, potent smell of gasoline in the air, and the looks of shock upon each crash. One thing I found difficult was getting pictures...

Trail Review: Kincaid Loop
Located in Central Louisiana, Kincaid Lake is home to a variety of outdoor activities for any adventurer to find enjoyable. It’s also the location for the Kincaid Lakeshore Trails, which is the go-to place for any mountain biker in the area. Some might say it’s part of the Wild Azalea National Recreation Trail system (which it is connected to), but we will leave that up for another day. For my...

Sweet Thing Grand Opening
The Sweet Thing grand opening was yesterday and I was able to be there for the rope cutting and some free cupcakes. A good crowd showed and seemed delighted for another sugary treat in this town. I know I am.

Trail Review: Blue Hole
Going to try a new type of blog post today and make it a running series. Next to photography, cycling is a passion for me and each weekend I take half a day to ride my mountain bike. If you follow me on any sort of social network, you have seen the vast array of pictures I’ve taken of my bike at different locations. For these posts, I want to review the trails I have been on and give a little...

Anacoco Sunset
This past weekends adventure ended at an abandoned RV camp site over looking the Anacoco lake. Something I imagine once was a beautiful view has now become the largest dry lake bed I have ever seen. Just a small stream running through it remained. Much is to be explored in this area, but I took the opportunity to wait out the time remaining and catch the sunset over the lake. A few things I...

Instagram Adventures
This past Saturday was one I felt like adventuring the unknown. Packed up my camera and headed out right as I woke up. Decided to pick a destination and take the back roads the entire way. Which lead to some interesting things. I quickly realized that it would be more fun to limit myself to my phone and see what I could come up with it. Publishing to Instagram when I had the signal. Though, my...

Texas Line
Look into the distance! Texas can be seen from Louisiana from this point. Texas is only 14 miles away I was told. I honestly can’t believe it’s that close, but who’s going to argue a sign. This is actually one of the few spots I know of in Louisiana that you can see over the tree line. Hills just don’t exist here.

Self-Portrait
Been a while since I last got a picture of myself. So, I thought why not.

Quiet Day.
Was calm and quiet before the storm hit. Made the MTB ride that much better.

CrossFit Ruston
A few months ago I had the opportunity to film a commercial for some friends (Lauren and Even) and their new CrossFit  gym in Ruston, La. The finished video was released a few weeks ago and I loved how it all turned out. The process getting to that point was not an expected one to say the least though. With a hard drive failure and time ordering and installing a new one held up post-production a...

Tamale Fiesta Mud Bog
Each weekend I am trying to find a new experience in this great state of Louisiana. What all might I find? I don’t have any idea just yet, but I am having fun deciding the week before hand. Seems like a lot does happen but one does need to know where to look for it to know about it. I have learned if you’re not originally in the circle, it’s hard to know. So I am looking into every corner I can...

West Louisiana Forestry Festival
This past weekend I explored out into the town of Leesville, LA to see what I could find. What I found was a fair/rodeo event, a mix I have never encountered. I knew I had to take this chance to take pictures, as this event is a big deal to the locals (62nd year of the event). What I found was far more than I expected and it was an experience to say the least. There was also a pageant with the...

Jessica
Had an early morning photo shoot with Jessica the last week of school and must say it turned out wonderfully. It was also finals week for her and I’m glad she had some time for it! Also had assistance from my good friend Elizabeth, which she helped out a lot. Hope to have more of these types of photo shoots. Till then, enjoy and let me know what you think!
